5/10. The good things were the cubes themselves and the mystery surrounding them and of course Kate Stewart who was excellent. However the comedy scenes were excruciatingly bad and the resolution ruined it. It was all over so quick; the Doctor gets his sonic screwdriver out and thats it. Rushed ending.  |

Pretty much agree with you. Had potential. Wasn't fulfilled.

I feel that, nowadays, one cannot truly judge a story if it has a "rushed" ending as - nine times out of ten - it actually had a perfectly good ending which was edited out of all context. Vampires of Venice being a prime example, the DWM special shows all the edited scenes that made sense of everything and instead we got the action scenes without explanation.
So I suggest we agree to leave Power of Three's judgement until the facts are revealed.

I see what you mean, but surely we have to vote on what was, not what might have been? If a director's cut ever comes out, sure, I'll reappraise then, but I can't vote on unfulfilled intention.

My point is, we shouldn't write it off as a failure. Unsatisfying, perhaps, but not a failure - there's obviously a huge cut explaining why the wierd square-mouthed things were abducting people, with Amy's "Where are we?" "One dimension to the left" dubbed over an establishing shot.
