Obviously an awful series of scams, however hardly surprising. When the meat is sourced at the lowest possible price then this kind of thing is encouraged. To be honest I'm surprised it isn't worse and that they haven't found dead cats and all sorts else in it. Most of what goes into these kinds of products are probably offal & scrag ends anyway rather than nice joints of meat.

I have to agree with you.
I had a Saturday job on the butchery counter in a supernarket back in the late seventies. I finished up being rather disillusioned: the steak pie contained 'ox cheeks'; the value mince was padded out with lumps of fat and gristle.
