Howe, Stammers & Walker are the authors of the classic decades trilogy, three of the finest encyclopedic works in the Whovianological written canon. Howe & Walker also wrote "The Television Companion" which is the Whovian work that Ireach for the most when I need to look something up. Yet very little seems to be known about the authors. Therefore a degree of intelligent speculation needs to be applied when considering and analysing said authors. I think it is reasonable to assume that all three live in the same house. Possibly a shared house in London. Such a high degree of collaboration would be easier that way. I envisage them sharing a large victorian three-storey semi in a quiet, slightly shabby street that few people visit. The house is crammed with Doctor Who memorabilia although the furniture and carpets date from the 1970s. One of the three, possibly Stammers, has a girlfriend called Emma who is bespectacled, works in a library and does their washing and cleaning to enable them to concentrate on Whovian research. Howe and Walker never leave the house although Stammers occasionally attends Doctor Who conventions with Emma, which explains why he was unavailable for 'The Television Companion'. Attachments:

...do you take medication for these fantasies?
And do you envisage Stammers, Howe and Walker as being played by Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmonsen and Christopher Ryan with Nigel Planer in a wig as Emma and their wacky landlord being Alexei Yuri Gregarian Glorious Five Year Plan Siege of Stalingrad Moscow Dynamo Sputnik Tractor Bolowski?

I think that one is a vampire, one a werewolf and the other one is a ghost.

David Howe, at the very least, is very active among the more social end of the Doctor Who fan community. Which you would probably know if you spent any time actually interacting with other fans, rather than spewing out missives of self-delusion from your inner sanctum to yourself.

Technical problems, Rich, as you know. Once I can actually get a home internet connection sorted out, rather than using my mobile, which doesn't seem to like freeforum software at all, then I'll be back on it. But given my flatmate's antipathy towards getting anything remotely resembling a decent internet connection, that just isn't happening at the moment.

Whatever happened to your blog, The Art of Avoidance? Or am I missing something...?

Have you heard of libraries, or even internet cafes?
