Just curious.
As I asked spara himself...
"Just working on the novelization of Yuletide Deliverance, and there are some bits about Richard III for which I feel I need your inestimable assistance. What's so special about Richard III? I don't deny his historical importance or his cultural significance... but why does he have such a hold over you you put his poster up on your blog? I ask because Ben Chatham is an equal R3ophile and it's hard to write for a perspective you don't understand.
So, he wasn't a deformed infantacidal maniac Shakespeare popularized. So what? That was all the stuff that made him interesting.
So he was the last of the plantagenets. It's been five hundred years, civilization has coped.
Why is he such a rolemodel?
If it's simply blind patriotic monarchistic fetishism... why obsess over a long-dead King rather than say the Royal Family alive today.
Is it because Richard III's true self is still debated?
I still don't get how historical mystery = someone so amazingly amazing a 21st Century Colchester bloke considers him better than the Dalai Lama. So... explain, please. And please don't answer with one word sentences. I need a detailed answer."

Or join the Richard III Foundation. They are more extreme than the Richard III Society: www.richard111.com/

Yeesh,
I ask a question and the reply is "joing some extremist groups". No answer, no explanation. What would these groups do for me? I don't care about the Duke of Gloucester and if no one can provide any reason for the contrary, there's no point joining those gangs, is there?
Do any other members of this forum give a damn about Richard III?
If so, explain why rather than spamming the thread.

My point was that the information of those websites will answer your questions, particularly the Richard III Society one. It has a wealth of info about Richard.

But none that could be related on this thread? If knowledge cannot be disseminated, stagnation is inevitable...
