Of all the supporting characters that should return to Doctor Who, Mike Yates surely tops the list. A fascinating character whose idealism led him to go too far in 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs'. We need to know what happened to him after 'Planet of the Spiders'.

According to the man himself in The Killing Stone...
Within the three week period while the Doctor was missing, the Brigadier tricked Yates into undertaking a suicide mission and be impregnanted by an alien parasite by the Master, so Yates would give birth to a component for his Tissue Compression Eliminator. When Yates survived, UNIT were so impressed, they immediately made him a full member of UNIT.
Nonetheless, the BBC Fourth Doctor audios reveal Yates became a bitter, drunken outcast who was envious of the Doctor's powers of regeneration and on more than one occasion has tried to wipe out humanity in sheer spite. The Doctor repays Mike by...
...ah, well, let's just say it's not nice at all.
