Utterly underrated and utterly superb. A big house in the English countryside & a witchcraft mystery: who could ask for more. The K9 1983 annual (see pic) is brilliant too. Attachments:

Interesting that the book tries to turn Sarah Jane Smith into Indiana Jones (or Africana Smith).
Go on, it's in The Curse of Kanbo-Ala.

I fail to see any difference between them. The only difference is Brendon and Aunt Lavinia being replaced by the Bannerman Street Road Gang.
Could you point out this "better characterization"?

Did Sarah Jane display any fighting skills in SJA?
Then again, what she did was hardly fighting against those cultists.

Yes, she does. She beats up some guards in, I believe, Warriors of Kudlack and explains it was all part of UNIT training.

In 'K9 & Company' SJS is portrayed as maturing into a country lady & living inthe heart of the English coubtryside.

She wasn't a country lady - she wanted a bit of piece and quiet to write a book, hence staying at her Aunt's place. She even says once the book is written she's out of there!
What's "coubtryside"? Another episode of Torchwood?

I watched K9 & Company again on Boxing Day evening. SO much better that the rubbish Moffat served up a day before. Absolutely how a Doctor Who Christmas special should be done.
